My experience is exactly that. 2-3 criteriums on a carbon Ironman, and it's a great century bike....
2-3 criteriums on a Kestrel 200SCi, and you know better than to take it out for more than a couple of hours.....
The newer stuff has all that fixed, from what I hear.
