I've tried to log what I eat in the past as many will attest helps them a lot, it did nothing for me. I just wrote down all the crap I ate, didn't feel bad about it cause as soon as the journal was closed I forgot all about it. What has helped me the most is to just not have the junk lying around the house. I'm not the kinda guy who eats junk outside of the house and I work in a factory setting and whatever I take in my lunch bag had better be enough because it's all I got.
