Yes, the lialc version of the Le Champion was very nice. Personally, I'd be tempted to paint it in the 1979 La redoute - Motobecane team colors, but then I have a penchant for team bicycles. In some pictures it looks champagne but it's actually has a light green tinge to it, similar to that used by Peugeot of some models during the boom.
I had those exact thoughts yesterday. I also took some measurements and the stickers are made to fractional dimensions. I also found traces of brilliant gold paint paint under the crown race.
