HELP!!

I have 2005 Jake. Easton Road handlebars. I have tried 2 types of headlights a trek northern Light LED. and the Supergo Dual 20. I can not get either to fit around the Handle bar. Are Easton bars, that much larger than the rest? or Am I an idiot who just cant figure this out.

Please Help Im in the Dark.
