I do not expect to be anywhere near any mountains in the foreseeable future. Georgetown is hilly enough though that I do want a good low gear, hence, the desire for something better than a 3-speed.
You sold a bike based on the ~1 kilogram diff. between a 7-speed and 3-speed hub?

I am not a steel bike kinda person. I am not a IGH kinda person. I am sure not much of a roadster, as you described, kinda person. But before I got my Klein I did take a hard look as a Masi Soulville. I don't know if you are interested but it does have some of the features you are looking for, if you can find one.
