Welcome! I fit to three and a half categories here on BF: clydesdales, commuters, winter cycling and living car-free (half on that one, I am "car light" since my wife has a car).
I also recently got a new Jamis. Mine is a Jamis Commuter 3. I picked it up at the LBS a week ago and am still getting it adjusted and ready for commuting duty. Seems like a great bike so far. It will be my summer bike. I have a chainless Dynamic with studded winter tires which will be my winter/slop-weather bike.
I think you just inspired me to take a night ride on the Jamis. See you around the Forum...
