Stacy, The ride always went up a ton of money every year. If what you said about the NYPD charging the city, that would only explain the recent increase. I may be wrong here, but I believe it was $72 two years ago. It may have been $55 for the early fee. Now that there is no 'early fee', Bike New York does the increase off of the highest amount.
