Since you have said that your are "not worried about how it folds", I recommend you try a different handlebar with a bit more sweep (or rise) first. Keep in mind that you may need to get longer brake and gear cables. The Avenir Circa bar should be available from your local Raleigh dealer for less than $20. See:
