I don't own one yet, but have two on order for my wife and me. Bought the Brompton for use on multimodal travel. I know that there are other bikes suited to this purpose but I could not find what I thought would be a better choice.
I think the Brompton will really give you what you need.
One suggestion... since you're moving around so much, things can happen, accidents can occur, maybe parts go missing or get damaged, particularly during transit or baggage handling. I'd bring along a few choice tools and spare parts.
- spare tube
- frame connectors when the bike is folded
- extra hinge bolt lock - to me, this is the most critical piece because the bike is useless if you can't lock it out to use as a full size bike and the piece is probably the easiest to lose - they're only $10 or so
