Did you ever talk to PayPal about accepting "Guest" payments, that is credit card payments through PayPal without a PayPal account or finding a way to accept credit cards, checks or cash?
Paypal system does accept payments via Major CC and creates yu an account linked to that card, specifically. You don't have to give them any other info that the credit card. It's secure and safe, as well.
