Just out of curiosity - have you tried the Schwalbe Marathon Supremes?
AFAIK they have a 30 day trial period and may change the way you look at wider tires. Personally I ride 40 and 50 widths and wouldn't drive anything else at this point - except maybe studded tires in the winter.
No, but we ride with a tandem team that uses the Supremes. They are really slow tires and are not good in the wet. We've seen the other team go down right in front of us when we didn't even think it was slick. We drop them coasting like rocks, even though they outweigh us by at least 50 lbs. We're running 25c Schwalbe Ultremo DD this winter and having good luck with them. Excellent sticktion and easy rolling for a double belted tire. I've also decided that the reason we've stopped blowing tires off our rims is because of the Deep V rims. The deep section rims apparently absorb and get rid of heat faster than a conventional box rim. So I'll just keep buying new ones. Safety first.
