Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

Apparently the saw is suitable when your wife is using it but not you. I expect the cable you were holding go into the saw at a bad angle and the blade tried to cut it nearly lengthwise.
