The idea of a relationship is great. I've had it with all of the vehicle salesperson I've worked with. But deciding which car you want to buy isnt a "problem". There are no words that a vehicle salesperson can say that is going to tell me if I am going to enjoy driving the car. If you're just looking for transportation then I suppose that can work. But not all changes are for the better and no salesperson is going to say "the car, this year, she's bad".

A friend of mine was buying his first entry level luxury coupe. He was looking at the usual suspects - 3 series,
C class, A5, G35, etc. Since he knows I'm a car guy he wanted my opinion. I laid out all the facts for him - driving dynamics, reliability, maintenance costs and the like. But in the end I said he would have to drive them and one would feel right. None pf the, were bad cars - it was coming doen to personal prefernce. And that's what he did. He picked the G35. Not what I would choose, but right for him. I'm not sure how a salesperson could have settled the choice without the test drives.
