This really gets to the heart of this forum. There are a small number of people using it, but they are great resources. Rarely, someone asks for information, and gets good, helpful answers. But, the regulars don't have so much left to learn, and have somewhat run out of ideas for new threads.

I would suggest that we put a little more energy into new thread ideas, and maybe that means more 'off-topic' threads. If there were more new threads, maybe there would be fewer falling into this silly trap of worrying whether we are too proud of ourselves, or too judgmental of those who drive.

Maybe a sticky about the 'smug' issue would thin out some of the nonsense. Every time someone drives down that path, divert them back to the sticky and resume the current thread topic.
