It's a can't teach old dogs new tricks thing, muscle memory wins out every time.
My 1st & last Brit MX bike taught me that a long time ago, AJS 410 Screamer (it's actual name) & I was screaming when in a race & I thought I was hitting the brake but instead up shifted to 4th & went screaming into the woods!
