As long as you don't get into a routine and are always challenging yourself, gyms can be very good for building the body, despite all the negative things you hear about them. And I don't care what anyone says, cyclists should do weights; muscles are the body's armor and we need armor, because you never get proficient enough in cycling to prevent accidents.
