Interesting thread, lot of people trying different stuff. No one mentioned duct tape or crazy glue so far, but,.... Shoe Goo is simply amazing for so many applications in the shop/home; JB weld in all its variations has let me down a few times where there is torsional stress to the parts, but for just simply sticking two parts together is is pretty darn good. For a part that may later be removed for painting, silicone based stuff is the ticket, IMHO.
