Yeah, I thought it was quite strange that he said that thing about not being there to cite anyone. He was an... interesting cop to say the least. As I was lying in the snow right after being hit, he rolls up to me slowly, rolls down his window, and says "Do you want to file an accident report?" I was a bit stunned that he would even ask (as well as being stunned by being hit by a car!). But I said "YES!" And I swear to god, he sighed very loudly. Guess it was tea time or something.

I had him file an accident report. I am not going to post any of the details of the collision, but suffice to say I had two independent eye witnesses who saw the car hit me. The driver told both me and the cop that he wasn't looking at me, but at two women who were shoveling snow in their driveway. At the end of the incident, after the cop finished calling in the report, he gave us both a lecture and finished with "You two are very lucky that neither one of you is hurt." Again I did a double take. How the hell would the driver get hurt? Except if he spilled his coffee on himself or something.

All in all it was a weird experience that I hope never to repeat.
