Well, yeah, but it's all compatible with everybody's new 10sp gear, not the older 1055 through 5500-style shifters.

There are still a lot of shifters from that period still in service (which will arguably remain in service for quite some time, considering how well-made a lot of the 8sp gear was), but the newer-style hoods don't exactly fit them and NOS hoods are getting scarce (and therefore expensive).

I'm using Shimano as the egregious example, but the same can apply to older Campy hoods.
