1. What type of bikes do 50+ folks ride?
I ride a Specalized Expidetion that I really like and am lusting for a 3 wheeler but the good ones are too expensive for me.
2. Do you take any special supplements/vitamins/minerals as you have grown older?
Fish Oil
3. How much do you feel you have "slowed down" if any?
Yes, I have slowed down overall but on the bike I was never that fast to begin with. Since I started riding about 5 years ago I have not noticed any slow down. I HAVE noticed that I am slower to heal from bumps and bruses than I was 5 years ago.
4. How long have you been biking? New, around a while, biked all your life?
Biked a lot as a kid, got a drivers license at 14 and gave up the bike, started back on the bike at about 64 after lap band surgery. Lost the weight I needed and got hooked on riding in the process.
5. What type of biking do you do? Long rides, touring, short rec rides.
I generally start out with a 10-15 mile ride on the stationary bike at the rec center. Do that with my wife who doesn't really like to ride on the streets and then go out and do another 20-30 miles on the bike. I ride solo and really like it that way.
6. How often do you bike? Your approximate annual mileage?
I try to ride at least 5 days a week and usually do. I average 5000-6000 miles per year
