The rider has arrived, and the bike is done!


I realize it's not a good picture (could you imagine a busier background?) But the whole suite is awash in boxes, and so there's not really a better spot. Provisionally, this is it! The binder bolt, recently arrived in the mail, was the decisive piece of the puzzle...

The rider relented and went with a simply black Velox cloth tape (rather than 'Atala' blue). Matchy. Still undecided on fill color for the stem engraving (though seems disinclined to leave 'plain' from what I hear).

Hoods cleaned up very nicely with some 'Goo Gone' (as had been recommended by another member here). Torelli leather saddle bag (a Brooks 'D' type knockoff) added to the B17S saddle. And I found an appropriate ferrule (after half a dozen LBS's) to fit the braze-on cable stop, though I will be replacing the housing currently used for the RD with some coiled steel Suntour stuff...

Will post some nice pics - within the limits posed by my camera and my skills - once we get some good sunshine here in Vancouver!
