You missed the point of my post.

Climbing is a power to weight ratio issue. Time trialing on the flats is a power to surface area issue. Your surface area doesn't increase proportioantely with size. Hence bigger people tend to have better power to surface ratios

This is why Fabian Cancellera is an incredible time trialist, but can't climb well enough to be a TDF GC contender.
