I almost crashed a couple weeks ago on a road ride on my CX bike because I forgot I had disc brakes. Locked up the rear wheel on a mild descent, using an Avid 140mm rotor with BB7s, 105 brifters. Wheee!
FWIW I am a big fan of disc brakes. I can't wait for better value road-specific wheelsets to be available. Pristine rims. I might even get a carbon wheelset then.
For CX races: Ryan Trebon has solid disc rotors (no cutouts to trap gunk).

I love the idea of the Volagi line but I think they're all beaten to death by the great grandmother of all ugly sticks ): Foundry's options are sooo much better looking.
