There is a lot of nice riding in the area. Last year over Memorial Day weekend, my s/o and I did a short bike vacation in that part of the Eastern Shore; we stayed at a B&B in Pocomoke City, and did rides from there on three days.

The first day, we rode to Crisfield (about 20 miles) and got (with our bikes) on the mail boat to Smith Island, and did some riding there. Smith Island is a unique place in Maryland, I enjoyed the visit (although that early in the season, only one of the two restaurants in Ewell was open.)

Princess Anne is another pretty little town about 20 miles away, and Deale Island is pleasant riding, too.

The roads in the area are either low traffic, or have good shoulders. And very flat. Following Google's "biking" or "walking" directions" seemed to result in decent riding conditions. Lower Eastern Shore folks are, by and large, very nice and laid-back; we never had any "road stress" while riding.

It is a pretty economically depressed area, though, and I understand that Crisfield got hit pretty hard with storm surge flooding from Hurricane Sandy.
