I don't know, we may be into a generational thing here. Keith Richards once said 90% of all music is crap and I think he might of been was on to something with that statement. I am sure that there has been plenty of good music in the last 15 years, if one bothered to search it out. I agree the mainstream is lame, but then again much of it has always been. That said, I mainly buy/listen to classical and jazz these days, catching up on all that I missed growing up - Bill Evans and Glenn Gould are currently on heavy rotation in my world.
