I've had my fenders installed for several months. I never noticed the weight (what's a couple of hundred grams when my fully loaded bike is well over 15kg), they'e never rattled, didn't interfere with my rear rack, and I haven't had to adjust them once. In my view, fenders are pretty much set them up and then forget about them - they're hardly what I'd call 'high maintenance'!
