Yes, I'm against adding it to your homeowners insurance, to the extent you have to pay a premium for it. the principle is don't insure against risks you can afford to absorb. and if you can't absorb, i.e. self insure, the loss of a bike, you paid too much for the bike for your financial situation.

If its no additional premium it makes more sense, butif you put it on your homeowners, you've still got the dillema of whether to file a comparitively small claim that will effect your homeowners rates, and even insurabilty.

Much better idea to go with the highest deductible you can manage on your homeowners. say $5000, pocket the premium savings, and self insure those smaller risks, saving the homeowners for things you can't abosorb.
