Search around in the Fixed and SS forum here and check out harriscyclery.com for more info. on doing a fixed gear conversion than you can absorb at one time. The forward facing dropouts give you enough play that you should be able to size the chain so it's got enough tension when the wheel's in the drops. You may have to use a half link, but it'll still work without using any tensioners. Hook yourself up a fixed hub and a half link and see where you're at.
