Holy Cow! He was on a road with a 65 mph speed limit?? The driver was probably doing 70-75 mph and at that speed, objects on the road come up so fast, anything can happen.
I was thinking rather than putting the latest blinky, cyclist really need to see what cars are in back of you at all times. I would rather ride without my helmet but won't leave out of my house without the "Third Eye" attached to my glasses. This way, I know exactly the distance between myself and the approaching vehicle as they try to pass. This piece of plastic and mirror has saved me at least once so far.
