chef. 2800 calories is proving difficult. at least if I want to eat healthy. I need to find some higher calorie "healthy" things. I found some long grain brown rice. holy crap man you have to cook it for over 1 hour. that is expensive. I assume most of that is getting the rice to "absorb" the water. can I do this cold? IE "soak" the rice in water for x amount of time and then cook for a much shorter time period? (the stinking electricity will cost more than the rice) has to be a better way :-)

150 cals for 1/4 cup that will help with the density issue. most of what I am eating now is low density calories so its hard to fit enough in my gut to hit 2800.
A rice cooker does have a lot of added benefits too. Love them.
