chef. its not about the time. its about the electricity. when I have my own place I will be living without a utility grid connection. I will be living on solar and my own stored power. powering a range for 50 minutes will be a huge drain on that available power. this is why I asked if I soak it 3 hours will that reduce it 30 minutes. you see soaking it 3 hours (3 times more time) takes no electricity. like I said not a huge deal but it is annoying.

Keeping an eye out for a rice cooker as well likely far more efficient than the stove top

its good that nuts are safe. I like nuts and they are MUCH higher density.
