Bianchi, hopefully nobody will "call you out", I think you're going down exactly the right path, besides if you like it, the looks the feel you'll ride it more often. I think some of the challenge will be to meet your criteria with weight and price along with looks. Even if you went with a 38-42mm carbon to get the looks you're after pricing with mid-range hubs will be around 1k for about 1400g. I know there are other lighter ones from ebay but I still don't trust that particular market with wheels and would rather go the Boyd, November, Sugar route which will probably go a little over the 1k mark and still be a tad heavier.

I only have about 100 miles on my new wheels, but I think they are a good mix of looks and weight. I also think the 38mm profile makes the wheel stiffer than my previous Dura Ace 7850's and certainly feel better. I'm looking forward to seeing your next demo!
