I started riding regularly in Minneapolis just three years ago, and I have been nowhere else for comparison. I have heard stories from elsewhere about anti-biker sentiments. Certain aspects of the street planning in Minneapolis make it hard for utility cycling, so in that respect Minneapolis has room for progress, BUT, in spite of my expectations I have experienced very little anti-biker activities. In fact, except for one guy in a big white pickup, none at all. In that respect, Minneapolis seems to be bike-friendly. Of course who knows what they thinking inside those cars, but they do keep it to themselves.
