Is there a reason the Koolstop pads won't work as replacement pads? They're not cheap but they work very well. I think I also heard somewhere that the Mathauser pads are coming available again.
Kool Stop makes
four dot pads. They are too short. He's looking for five dot pads to fit the longer holders.
Cantilever pads are not an alternative for someone that is trying to preserve the vintage look. I wouldn't use them.
