I knew the stock VP-113 pedals that came with my BF Tikit were cheap (the rubber "grip" started pulling out after the first week). But I expected them to last longer more than a year / more than ~6000 miles, and not leave me pushing the bike a couple of miles due to a broken pedal spindle.

I don't often fold the pedals, but there have been times it's been necessary to fit into some of the Caltrain luggage racks.

Can you recommend any pedals that might be a bit more robust, or should I forgo folding and go with a standard pedal?
