Saw an American Bald Eagle while touring in MT two years ago and one in VT the year before. Both looked young and were flying very low. I have a photo of the former somewhere at home. Will try to post it later.

Back in '00, while on a month+ tour from Seattle to SW Colorado, I spent about a week off and on camping/lodging staying with a Menonite couple riding cross country. The husband was a birder. He was keeping a log of all the birds he had seen along with birds he had heard but not seen. He had learned to recognize their calls by listening to tapes. I am pretty uneducated when it comes to most birds. It was great to have someone who could identify birds I had seen during the day's ride.
