Bikes: Colnago CLX - Chorus 11sp

My stats: height - 5'6", weight - 145lbs, and have been riding for 20+ years. As for what I'll build it with, Super Record 11s, Syntace 109 stem + Racelite2 Carbon bar, Tune saddle + seatpost, Nokon housing, Speedplay Ti pedals, Ciamilo GSL brakes, Enve 3.4 on Dash Cycles hubs.

I have tried numerous steel and carbon frames over the years. I had the ability to try various frames from Colnago, Giant, Bianchi, Eddy Merckx, Pinarello, Cervelo, BMC, Felt, Ciocc, etc, etc, etc... I like the feel and absorbing characteristics of steel, but it's too flexible and heavy. I like the lightness and plasticity of carbon, and of all frames I have tried, the R5 has the best performance for my riding style. I have never ridden Ti, but what caught my attention after talking with the guys at IF is the fact that they can dial the frame to be as stiff, comfortable and nimble as the R5, not quite as light, but light enough to make a sub 14lb bike with the right components. Yet, the Ti could be more durable and made "just for me" per say. The R5 will be, well, just another R5. OTOH, as I mentioned previously, The R5 is the best frame I have tested by far and I do like the new color scheme. I don't race anymore, but still go hard on group/club rides and the occasional pissing contest with my friends, so the bike needs to feel and react as if I was on a race at any given moment. I know the R5 will be, but IF has sworn theirs too. Banging my head here...
