Yes, I've had a nice supply of tires for my bike thanks to a couple friends who would otherwise toss them as soon as there's a little cut. The OP's rim looks fine to use for a little while until a replacement arrives. Even if it fails it looks like all that would happen is that one of the spokes starts pulling through a crack and slowly makes the rim get out of true. If he does any riding at all in the rain (or even through a puddle after some rain) I hope the replacement is aluminum for the much better wet braking performance.
