It's a C&V bike, so no aluminum. I bought a NOS Rigida on eBay to replace it. The cracks around the spoke holes are directly as a result of the impact with the rather large pot hole. This is what it did to the side of the rim:
I fixed that and then noticed it was tweaked around the spokes where the impact occurred. I think I'm feeling lucky. After all, I put 9 miles on it without noticing that. I've broken spokes on a ride before and it's not catastrophic. Besides, there's 34 more perfectly good spokes on that wheel.
