I've been on a bike (real bike outdoors) twice so far this year and it doesn't look good for the next week either. I'd even be happy (well, happier) if it warmed up enough that I could work on my bikes in my unheated shop. I don't mind the spin cycle and elliptical trainer for a couple of months, this is MN, but the way snow is piling up we are going to need a few days of thawing temps and sunny skies just to make the roads decent for cycling. The average high for mid-March in this area is 35-40F and we've already doubled average precipitation for the month, all of which came down as snow.

I'd be happy as heck to have decent roads and my only problem being that I had to peel a couple of layers throughout the day.

Hang in there. I have seasonal affective disorder as well and this is getting to be a tough year. The longer days help but there has been a lot of cold, cloudy weather so the additional daylight isn't all that noticable. If you are comfortable talking about it here, what do you to to alleviate the symptoms? I find that exercise helps but indoors under fluorescent lights isn't as effective as being outdoors. I tried SSRI medications but after the first week or two they sedated me which isn't compatible with my job. SNRI medication helps with the alertness, but I have to stick with a low dose or it messes with my blood pressure. Something about this time of year makes me crave carbs and I sleep more than normal, neither of which help with weight control and fitness.
I don't take anything for it. I am on testosterone injections now, which seems to be helping.
