Upgrading to SRAM Rival, couple of questions on compatability

I found a local deal that's smoking good on almost a full setup of SRAM Rival components. My current modern road ride is a 2010 Fuji 3.0 Newest that's component wise stock (new wheels, etc, but that's a different story). I can't afford everything all at once, so I'm going to have to piece it together as I go (familiar story for most I'm sure). The current plan is the shifters and rear cassette to start.

Question #1, I currently have an 8 speed Sora rear derailleur, from everything I've read I'll need to go ahead and get the appropriate SRAM rear derailleur for the move to a 10 speed cassette? I know I can get a ratio conversion pulley from Jtek for instance, but the overall travel of the RD is going to be out of spec for an 8 spd to 10 spd change I'm guessing.

Question #2, is going from the stock 8 speed cassette to a 10 speed, going to cause issues with the triple up front? If it's just a matter of going to a longer cage on the FD that's not a huge deal.

I might also possibly get the crank-set if I can get the wife to part with the extra cash, and I'd need to get a bottom bracket for it. I'm assuming that Fuji uses a standard English thread 68mm BB like most of the rest of the world on their bikes?

Question #3, assuming that my bike has a standard thread 68mm BB, would it be worth the time savings to just get the crank-set?

Thanks a bunch,
