I was thinking "a correct respray would not cost that much..." but when you factor in components, Pre Record hubs, (and maybe even 110 spacing) the correct Campagnolo cranks, pedals, headset, seatpost, Cinelli steel bar and stem with the badge... $3,000 is quite possible, finding a period donor Frejus or other Italian track iron might be the best route.... pretty significant dollars when one is done.
But it's still a repaint in the end a 10K at that!. I think it the asking price would be justifiable in it's original paint; scuffs dings and all.....I'd expect a frame of that vintage to be scuffed up, patina'd....A like new restoration makes me think there has been some work done under the paint, right or wrong, that's my impression.
