I think it depends, mostly on how far you have to go from the meet up to the open roads. Our local Tuesday Night World Championship is 8 miles and 30 minutes of chit-chat and riding through town until it hits the start line.
But definitely ride to the ride whenever possible.
i would like to attend one of these rides to see how long i can hang on. is it open to new peeps, or do i need to know the super secret hand shake?
