If the arrangement is what I'm thinking it is, it seems that you would need a cable end (ferrule), that has an angled end for where the cable enters the downtube. I've never seen one..Probably easy to make if you have access to a small lathe. Otherwise very expensive if you pay a machine shop to make it. The other option is to bypass all of that with clamp on cable guides and stops.
