I had to drive my daughter's car home from downtown yesterday afternoon, so I rode a quick loop around town after work and then loaded my bike in her trunk. The drive home made me appreciate bike commuting all the more, despite the cold temperatures and brutal headwinds we've been having lately. It took me about 15 minutes to get through one crazy 3-redlight section along the route home. The traffic signals are not synched and as soon as one light would turn green the next one would turn red. I ended up getting home about the same time I do when I ride my bike home.

Had a nice bike commute this morning, with the winds at my bike or crosswise most of the way. The ride home should be much tougher, as a strong cold front is pushing through during the day with 30 mph gusts expected in the afternoon and temperatures actually colder than the morning. I am so ready for warmer weather to arrive.
