Bikes: '96 Litespeed Catalyst, '05 Litespeed Firenze, '06 Litespeed Tuscany, '20 Surly Midnight Special, All are 3x10. It is hilly around here!

I didn't mean the torque used to install the bottom bracket cups wasn't important but that I can get in the right range for this particular application with out a torque wrench. I've installed bottom brackets from cup-and-cone throuigh external bearing types for years and never had one come loose or damaged the threads. That said, there are a lot of applications I always use a torque wrench for so I'm not at all minimizing their importance.
