Oh, that's what you mean. Many people choose mtb pedals to commute. I say go for it, although I don't know about M530's. M520's would be a great choice, very economical.

Simply put, if I had to go clipless, I would choose mtb pedals if I were doing a lot of city riding/commuting with the occasional long ride on the weekends or something.

If my bike was set up to ride the distance on an at least semi-regular basis, then I would use road pedals.
