I am mostly inquiring n regard to touring bikes and tandems, which can require wider OLD hubs for drag brakes and/or
the intention of building rear wheels with less or no dish. say, 140 or 145mm OLD.
Drive side flange to locknut distances appear to be very close across the spectrum of rear hubs of varying OLD, hence the variances in OLD must be applied to the non-drive side.
Hence the question.
I guess that , if the rear dropouts are not the same distance from the centerline of the frame, the reduced dish intention is lost.
However, if BB's are wider, then all goals age achievable!
Thanks
