To the OP, any skewer can squeak if not greased. You've got a good internal cam skewer, and you've fixed your problem. Leave well enough alone.

for racing with a service vehicle behind them and facilitating first gen derailleurs, ya. but when i'm home wrenching on the bike, it makes no difference. and if i get a flat on the road, usually i'm so bummed, a couple of seconds to get out the multitool over and above getting out the patch kit, tire irons and pump, is neither here nor there for me.
