I'm a lifelong cyclist, but new to self-supported touring last year. Building up my strength and equipment slowly, but looking forward to a modestly large tour this May, doing the DC to Pittsburgh trip on the C&O and GAP trails.

I ride a 2004 Trek 7300 FX, which is more of a recreational/trail bike than hard-core touring steed, but it gets the job done for me. Just added new Ortleib bags to the rear, and moving my cheap SunLite bags to the front, so this will be my first four-bagger.
